Since 2003, Whiskey Creek Press has published fiction and non-fiction in ebook form for those who want fast access to new fiction from a variety of new and established authors. The publisher pays royalties, but like most online book publishers, it offers no advance payment. Books published by Whickey Creek are also made available in trade paperback format.
Submitting Fiction to Whiskey Creek Press
The publisher is always open to new submissions. They can be sent at any time of year and must be sent in their entirety. Whiskey Creek Press does not accept sample chapters or a synopsis in place of a full manuscript.
The book proposal package required by the publisher includes a cover letter that details the writer's experience. This includes any work that has been published in the past and any other writing experience. Create a synopsis of one to two pages that encompasses the entire story. Include a business plan about one page in length that lets the online publisher know exactly what steps you will take to market your ebook. This includes an author website that highlights your works. Having this website is mandatory for all writers published by Whiskey Creek.
The last part of your book proposal package is the complete manuscript itself. The manuscript must be sent electronically- the publisher will not accept any physical copies. The manuscript should be at least 50,000 words and no more than 100,000 words. The publisher prefers works about 60,000 to 80,000 words in length. Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple publishers is not permitted. Once your submission package is sent, you can expect a response within 90 to 120 days.

Like any reputable online book publisher, there are no fees associated with the publisher process. Most online publishers create their own in-house artwork for their ebook covers, and Whiskey Creek is no exception. The publisher also pays for the ISBN and for editorial services to give each manuscript a final polish. The publisher also sets up the trade paperback printing that will be done for each contracted book.
Fiction and Non-Fiction Genres
While Whiskey Creek accepts all fiction genres, the publisher prefers to publish romance, fantasy and science fiction books. It also publishes historical fiction, adventure, horror, thrillers, young adult novels, humor and inspirational books. Writers can also publish their poetry, short stories and self-help non-fiction books through Whiskey Creek.
