Silver Publishing is an online publisher specializing in romance novels. Along with online publishing companies like Ellora’s Cave, Resplendence Publishing and Red Rose Publishing, the site offers many different types of romance books and offers a royalties-only contract to romance writers.
Silver publishes romance and erotic novels online, making them available for download through the Silver Publishing site and several other sites. The ebooks are available through All Romance Ebooks, Barnes and Noble, BookStrand, the Apple iPad bookstore and others. Print book versions are available through Amazon, CreateSpace and from various libraries and bookstores.
Romance Novels, Erotic Novels Available Through Silver Publishing
As of this writing, the publisher is only accepting male/male submissions for its new romance novels, but this is subject to change. At other times, both heterosexual romances and m/m homosexual romances have been accepted by Silver Publishing, but lesbian romance novels are not published. Works shorter than novels, including novellas and short stories are also accepted.
Getting Published With Silver
The books published by Silver are required to have a sexual relationship as a part of the storyline, but the books do not have to include graphic scenes. The publisher is looking for unexpected stories- those that will surprise the reader rather than traditional genre stories.
Getting published with Silver can be done by submitting contemporary romance, historical romance that does not include time travel, paranormal romance, suspense, mysteries, Westerns, sci-fi and fantasy novels and holiday stories. Novella manuscripts must be 15,001 to 25,999 words in length. Short novel manuscripts, called "Novel-Lites" by Silver, are 26,000 to 45,999 words in length. Full novels are a minimum of 46,000 words with no maximum length.
Manuscripts must be written to either U.S. or U.K. spelling and grammar standards. Writers can submit a manuscript to Silver Publishing without an agent and without sending a query first if the stories are shorter than 30,000 words. The publisher prefers that stories longer than 30,000 be queried first with a summary and partial manuscript. Manuscripts are not required to be finished when the query is sent. Manuscripts and queries must be emailed. Authors can expect an answer within six to eight weeks.
Get Paid to Write Romance
While most online publishing companies pay a smaller royalty percentage for ebooks published on partner websites, Silver pays a flat royalty rate. Writers are paid a 60 percent royalty no matter where the ebook is published. Silver Publishing provides an ISBN, unique cover art and editorial services.
