Untreed Reads is currently publishing fiction in most genres, including horror, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, self-help and literary novels. Though most ebook publishers specialize in romance and erotic fiction, Untreed Reads does not accept romance novels or erotica, and it does not accept poetry.
Nonfiction Internet Publishing
Nonfiction ebook publishers are scarce, but Untreed Reads publishes a wide variety of nonfiction genres. History, biographies, business and cultural books are all accepted. Students can also publish a thesis through the site.
Electronic Book Publishing Through Untreed Reads
Like other ebook publishers, there is no advance offered upon publication. Writers who publish through this online publisher earn 50 percent of the net earnings of their books. Royalties are paid to writers quarterly.
When submitting a story or book, submit the full manuscript. Manuscripts are accepted in DOC format, and images can be submitted as PDFs. Book proposals can also be submitted if they contain a sample chapter. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. Writers can expect a response within 90 days.
The work submitted must be copyrighted by the author. Though it is not a requirement for publication, Untreed Reads prefers for authors to obtain a copyright from the United Sates Copyright Office before the work is published, a process that can take as long as six months. Writers who have a book in print and don’t have a digital contract for the work are free to submit to Untreed Reads.
Editing is provided by the publisher as well as a final proofread of the manuscript. The publisher also provides the book’s cover art.
The books published are available on a wide variety of websites, including Borders.com, Cyberread, BooksAMillion, Powell’s and the Untreed Reads Store. They are also available through Amazon as Kindle versions.
