Eternal Press is an online publisher that publishes fiction ebooks that are available through the Eternal Press site as well as from Amazon, Fictionwise, Mobi Pocket, All Romance eBooks and several other online sources. Some of the titles are also available in print form.
Online Publishing Through Eternal Press
Unlike many online publishing sites, this book publisher carries a wide variety of fiction genres. Though the site does not publish short stories, poems or religious fiction, it does publish just about anything else. The site carries GBLT, young adult, paranormal, romance, novellas, historical, thriller, science fiction, horror and more.
How to Get a Book Published
Novel and novella manuscripts should be 20,000 to 140,000 words. Queries should include the genre the book falls under, a word count, a bio, a synopsis and a marketing plan for your book if Eternal Press accepts it. The publisher also wants to know in advance if there are any questionable or disturbing topics covered in the book.
If the book is shorter than 50,000 words, include the complete manuscript with your query. If the book is 50,000 words or more, the first three chapters and the final chapter should be included in your query. Query through email only.
Book Publisher Payments
Like most online publishing companies that carry ebooks, the only payments are royalties on the sale of the book. The royalties from this book publisher are 40 percent of the net revenue of each sale. If the book is sold in print, the writer gets 25 percent of the net revenue. Eternal Press keeps exclusive rights to the book for five years.
The formatting guidelines are given to writers when a manuscript is accepted. MS Word is required, and writers should know how to use the track changes feature to be compliant with the editing guidelines.
Art, Video and Marketing
Eternal Press employs its own cover artists, some of whom have won awards for their Eternal Press book covers. For some books, there are also video book trailers available to help market the books. The trailers review major plot points to entice readers in the same way that a movie trailer entices viewers.
Like most offline and online publishing companies, Eternal Press does expect writers who get a book published through the company to market their own books in order to increase sales. That often means starting a blog or an author website to create more interest in the book.
While it is generally easier to get published through an online publisher, Eternal Press and other Internet publishing companies are choosy about the quality of the books they accept. And while the royalty percentages are far higher with an online publisher than with the typical print book publisher, the number of sales is generally lower.
